Urban Bar Mitzvah Design

Who says the main ballroom at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale can’t look like a scene out of an urban city night?  When given this challenge for our client’s Bar Mitzvah, we couldn’t wait to get to work and get creative.

To give the feeling of a city at night, we used tons of glow elements – from tables to funky modern lit accessories around the room, even shape elements were suspended from the ceiling.  Everything was glowing.  To give the room a real urban edge, we brought in chain linked fencing to surround the room, with barbed wire on top – it ended up being such a cool element to make the event feel like it was in the middle of a city at night.

Love all the photos by Jennifer and her team at O’Grace Photography.

Probably our favorite design element was the food truck facades we had  a local artist design – and not just for looks.  A different food truck type dish was served out of each of the facades.  His “S-W-E-E-T-S” signs above the candy station brought the whole urban feel together perfectly.

And what kids’ event isn’t complete with a rocking DJ who doesn’t just play music – his staging and entertainment were a big part of the evening’s festivities.
