Having the opportunity to take a blank canvas and transform it into something spectacular for guests to enjoy is one of the best parts of being wedding and event designers. Hallie and Matthew love the outdoors and wanted to be immersed in the natural landscape of the Arizona desert on their wedding day. At the same time, they wanted a reception that offered an atmosphere of sophistication and romance. Their barn wedding at Desert Foothills in North Scottsdale was just that – an evening of romance surrounded by the natural beauty of the desert.
We love these photos by Hollye Schumacher – perfectly captured the day!
Hallie and her bridesmaids carried loosely gathered earthy bouquets of Lavender and Sage herbs, Anemones, Dahlia’s, Succulents and Hypericum berry, wrapped with natural leaves. The flower girl wore a delicate fresh flower halo and carried a petite basket adorned with fresh petals.
And what barn wedding would be complete without a beer donkey? Loved that Hallie and Matthew did this!
The ceremony was held in front of open doors with a beautiful view of the desert. On the altar stood a chuppah built with tall natural Manzanita trees, delicate lace fabric, and hanging clusters of flowers. We hung huge iron chandeliers from the ceilings to create a dramatic feel in the ceremony room that enhanced the rustic feel of the barn.
To create and eclectic and unique feel inside the barn, the reception room was filled with wood Descanso tables and endless amount of lush flowers, crystal candelabrum, hanging crystal chandeliers, lanterns, and candles.
